You can then simply attach your privacy screen to your balcony railing with cable ties and simply dismantle it again if necessary. If your balcony has a balustrade that does not allow a screen to be installed with standard eyelets, that’s no problem. Simply send us a sketch with the required eyelet spacing and we will manufacture your privacy screen according to your specifications.

Most balconies have a parapet with a horizontal strut running up and down. Vertical struts are then mounted at a certain distance between the two horizontal struts. The reinforced edge area of the banner is approx. 38mm and the eyelet sits in the middle of the reinforced edge. The eyelet has a diameter of 12mm and therefore the distance from the outer edge of the banner to the edge of the eyelet is approx. 13mm.

If you have now measured the inner distance between the two vertical outer struts of the balcony parapet, you should deduct the 12mm per side up to the first eyelet. If you have measured 300cm between the two struts as an example, the balcony privacy screen should be max. 302cm long, so that you can later lash the eyelet to the respective vertical strut and the privacy screen is well stretched.

To create the layout for your balcony privacy screen, we recommend using an image editing program. The most popular image editing programs are Photoshop, Illustratur, Coraldraw and Indesign. There are some free programs like Inkscape or Gimp, which are excellent for creating the print file. There is also a choice of online design portals such as Photpea which are also easy to use and you can quickly create the design you want.

How long a balcony privacy screen will last can usually only be roughly predicted. Decisive factors of the region, the position of the balcony, possible shading and the general climate situation make a forecast difficult. Generally speaking, banner colors fade by an average of 10% per year. Since dirt also impairs the reputation of the balcony privacy screen, we also recommend regular cleaning, depending on the situation. This can be done with warm water and mild detergents. If you are unsure about the cleaner, first try it on a less visible area on the privacy screen.
